Steep Slope Meets Low Slope

Shingles or metal terminating into a membrane roof is one of the most common commercial transitions and one of the most frequently underdetailed. It needs a designed tie in with the correct lap sequence, not whatever material happened to be on the truck.

Dissimilar Metals in Contact

Aluminum against copper, or steel fasteners driven through aluminum flashing, sets up galvanic corrosion that eats the connection from the inside out. On older buildings carrying repairs from several eras, this is a common and easily missed cause of recurring leaks.

Multiple Roof Areas at Different Elevations

Upper roofs discharging onto lower roofs, sidewall flashings, and drainage crossing between sections mean the roof has to be understood as a whole system. Fixing one area in isolation can move water somewhere it was never designed to go.
